Custom Fields

We are excited to introduce support for custom fields, offering you more flexibility to capture data outside of standard fields and product attributes.

At the core of custom fields are attributes. Attributes can be assigned to custom field templates, making them available for data entry on the associated object models.

For marketplaces operating under a flexible attribute template strategy, there's an added benefit – you can assign custom fields directly to individual object instances, bypassing the need for a predefined custom field template.

The following objects now support custom fields:

• Products
• Variants
• Categories
• Collections
• Users (both staff members and customers)

For those who may have used metadata to capture custom data previously, custom fields offer more benefits over metadata by allowing validated data entry, ensuring data integrity based on the attribute's input type.
