Manage Product Photos

The first image on a product is the featured image, which is shown in category and collection pages. There is no limit to the number of images you can add per product.

Add an image

1. Go to Catalog -> Products.
2. Open the product you want to edit.
3. From the product details page, open the Media tab.
4. There are two ways to add an image:
   • Drag-and-drop an image file on the Photos pane.
   • Select Upload a file and then select an image from your device.

Add an alt text description

An image description acts as the alt (alternative) text. Adding an image description highlighting product features has the following benefits:

• Accessibility: Allows the image description to be read by assistive technology for your site visitors who are visually impaired.
• SEO: Allows search engine crawlers to read what the image is about, which can help boost SEO.

Steps

1. Go to Catalog -> Products.
2. Open the product you want to edit.
3. From the product details page, open the Media tab.
4. Hover over the image you want to add alt text to, and select the edit icon.
5. On the Edit photo page, enter the alt text in the Description field.
6. Select Save.

Arrange images

The first image on a product is the main, or featured, image. This is the image shown when browsing category and collection pages on your storefront, as well as the cart and checkout.

Steps

1. Go to Catalog -> Products.
2. Open the product you want to edit.
3. From the product details page, open the Media tab.
4. Drag-and-drop to reorder images.

Delete an image

1. Go to Catalog -> Products.
2. Open the product you want to edit.
3. From the product details page, open the Media tab.
4. Hover over the image you want to delete, and select the trash can icon.
