Add Custom Fields to an Item
You can manually assign custom fields directly to individual items in your marketplace, providing an alternative to using custom field templates.
For instance, if a specific product offers a customization option that others don't, you can add a "Personalization" custom field directly to that product.
Before you start
- Add the attribute for the field you want to add, if it doesn't already exist.
- Your marketplace configuration must allow flexible attribute usage. Otherwise, custom fields can only be assigned through custom field templates.
Steps
- Go to the item you want to add the custom field to.
You can use custom fields on your products, variants, categories, collections, staff members, and customers. - Scroll down to the Custom fields section.
- Select the Add icon.
- Choose the attribute from the list.
- Select Add.
- Set the field value.
What type of value you can enter depends on the input type on the attribute. - Save the page.
