Email Logs
Email notifications are logged and can be viewed on the Mail logs page to confirm when email notifications are sent, the email type and payload data to assist in identifying any problems. For more insights like delivery and open rates of your emails, check the analytics on your SendGrid Dashboard.
View your email logs
The following steps outline how to navigate your Nautical dashboard and access the log for every email notification sent from your marketplace:
- In your Nautical dashboard, navigate to Settings > Mail Logs. You should see a table with all your email notifications similar to the image below:
- Review and confirm the information listed in the table. The list below describes each column in the table:
- ID: The email ID.
- Date: The date and time when the email was sent.
- From: The email address configured as a sender in your email template settings.
- To: The recipient address.
- Type: The email template type.
- Payload: The JSON email payload used to populate dynamic information on the email.
- Error: Any errors that occur during sending will appear here.
Work with email log filters
The email logs page keeps a comprehensive history of all email notifications. Email log filters enable you to quickly look up a specific email. The following steps show how to use the email log filter:
- On the Email logs page, select a filter from the column options available. You can choose to filter by date, sender’s email, email template type, or recipient’s email.
- When you are done, select a filter and click the Clear button.
Troubleshooting
- If an email is missing from the logs, or an error appears in the email logs, get in touch with Nautical Support for help.
- If an email is missing from the logs, you can also investigate the following for the root cause:
- Make sure your SendGrid plugin is active.
- Check your mail settings to verify the email is activated.
- In SendGrid, make sure the email template you're using exists and is active.
