Set Up Shipping Zones

Shipping zones define the cost of shipping in different areas of the world. Collecting countries and regions together in zones allows you to assign accurate shipping and delivery options for buyers.

Ensure all locations that you ship to are covered in at least one shipping zone. Customers will not be able to complete checkout if there is no shipping zone available for their address for the product inventory.

Permission Requirements

You must have the "Manage shipping" permission granted through your permission group to create and manage shipping zones.

Add a shipping zone

  1. In the Dashboard, go to Settings -> Shipping.
  2. In the page's header, select Create shipping zone.
  3. Enter a Shipping zone name.
  4. In the Owner field, select the seller who owns the shipping zone.
    note

The Owner field only appears to users with the Manage marketplace permission, that is, marketplace operators. Otherwise, it defaults to the seller associated with the current user.

  5. In the Countries section, select which countries this shipping zone covers.
The available countries match the Supported countries setting in your marketplace configuration.
  6. In the Country areas section, select each country name to expand the regions, provinces, or states. Remove any regions not covered by this shipping zone. By default, all country regions are added.
  7. Select Save.
Upon saving, new sections appear to allow you to define shipping rates and assign warehouses.

Assign a warehouse to the shipping zone

There are two ways to associate a warehouse with a shipping zone. You can edit the warehouse to add the shipping zone, or edit the shipping zone to add the warehouse.

To add a warehouse to a shipping zone:

  1. In your dashboard, navigate to Settings -> Shipping -> Warehouses.
  2. Select the warehouse you want to assign to a shipping zone.
  3. Scroll to the Shipping section. In the Shipping zones dropdown, select one or more shipping zones.
